“PLAY AND PAY” 18 hole golf Course

Thorpe Park Golf Course will be an 18 hole golf course of PAR 72 designed by a former PGA Architect Mark Jones of prestigious Architect Firm “The Golf Consultancy”.

Attention to detail has resulted in the design of a Golf Course that meets all the needs of the modern Golf Player, but blends in aesthetically with the beautiful rolling woodlands of the Essex countryside maintaining the spectacular views and minimising any intrusion to the views of the external countryside. This Golf course will appear to be an extension of the wooded areas in the immediate proximity. Thorpe Park Golf Course will not be restricted to an Elite Group of Private paying memberships as the course will be open to the Public and ran on a Play and Pay Basis.

Every amenity imaginable has been incorporated into the design of the Course, Driving range and Clubhouse to offer players an leisure experience of the highest standard, with alfresco Dining areas to the exterior enabling Summer time functions and Fine Dining options.

A single storey clubhouse of 700 sq metres, set on 0.66 Hectares. Natural materials will be utilised in the exterior of the building in a combination of Brick and Slates to blend in harmoniously with the local area. There will be a large decked area with canopies to the outside, offering panoramic views, and the use of Extensive glazing to the interior to maximise the natural light and impressive views across the course. The facilities are as follows:

  9 Hole Golf Course & Driving Range:  
   

The development of the 1st 9 Holes will be comprise of Golf Course, 19 bay fully automated Driving Range and practise Greens of 30.74 hectares and is due for completion by the end of 2008 ready for opening in Spring 2009. A further 9 holes will be added once the 1st phase has been completed and is open to the public. The 9 hole Golf course has been designed as a single loop of 9 holes within a Parkland setting with several small ponds, with several sets of Teeing areas on each hole which is the principle mechanism by which the course can be altered to make the course easier or harder depending on how accomplished a player is. This course has been designed to appeal to players of all ages and capabilities enabling the largest possible appeal to people from every socio economic group. Traditional Economic barriers to play have been removed with the ease of the Play and Pay system which eliminates membership fees, without any reduction of Services and amenities.
